Now that the winter residents are returning, the Putters have several special events on the horizon to keep the ladies involved.
Battle of the Sexes
The annual Battle of the Sexes will take place on Monday, October 24 with registration beginning at 2:00 p.m. and putting commencing promptly at 3:00 p.m. The contest pits the 36 lady putters against their spouses/significant others. Last year the men won so the ladies will be out for revenge this year. Cost is $8 per person. Deadline to sign up is Friday, October 21.
There will be a 50/50 raffle the day of the event at $1 per ticket or six for $5. Proceeds will go to the Blind Rehabilitation Program at the Tucson VA hospital.
Starting at 2:00 p.m. there will be snacks and a cash bar with drink specials available for purchase. Prizes will be awarded after the putting event.
Rally for the Cure
The Susan G. Komen Rally for the Cure, Putters style, will take place on Thursday, November 3 starting at 10:00 a.m. Each of the 18 holes will have a fun theme, putting through a gauntlet of disposable pink razors, putting with a broom and putting through swimming noodles. Because of size limitations for the luncheon also attended by more serious golfers, only 72 putters can participate. Should the Putters not reach 72 ladies who want to putt, for the first time in their history, they will also allow men to join them in this charity event. Deadline to register is Thursday, October 27.
Mexican Fiesta
On Wednesday, November 9 the Putters from SaddleBrooke Ranch will come south to compete against the Quail Creek Putters. With its Mexican Fiesta theme, the luncheon will feature a Taco Salad Buffet with a Margarita special available for purchase. Cost for the event that will start at 10:00 a.m. is $20. Deadline to sign up is Wednesday, November 2.
The regular Wednesday putting will continue at 8:30 a.m. throughout October with an 8:00 a.m. check-in time. Starting with November 2 and continuing until the end of April, putting will start at 10:00 a.m. with check-in beginning at 9:30 a.m. There is a $1 weekly fee to putt.
