Silver sand casting is a timeless jewelry-making technique that captures texture, spontaneity, and the beauty of organic form. Recently, students at the Quail Creek Lapidary and Jewelry Club explored this captivating craft through hands-on practice and experimentation. Members learned how to prepare molds, safely melt and pour silver, and refine their cast pieces into beautiful jewelry. With small class sizes, everyone had the opportunity to try multiple pours, share ideas, and learn from both successes and surprises. The result was a collection of unique silver pieces and a deeper appreciation for a technique that blends ancient tradition with modern creativity.
