Thank-you to Quail Creek organizations and Green Valley sponsors For supporting 2026 Morris Air National Guard baby shower

On May 16, members of Caring Hearts and Hands delivered their fifth military baby shower for enlisted men and women serving at Morris 162nd Air National Guard Base in Tucson, AZ.

This year 32 new patriots were showered with baby clothes, gifts, supplies and diapers. The baby shower is always the third Saturday in May as this is Armed Services Day, paying tribute to our men and women in the Military both past and current.

Our communities of Green Valley, Quail Creek, and Sahuarita have, without fail, contributed each year to this important event. There are three organizations that stand out in their ongoing commitment to our military families and especially these newborn babies whose enlisted parents put themselves in harm’s way for our safety and security.

American Legion Madera Post 131 in Green Valley, knows the importance of supporting our Armed Forces. For 250 years, America has depended on the courage of our armed forces to keep the promise of freedom alive. American Legions across the countries help warriors and their families build a brighter future. Madera Post 131 has consistently stepped up to help Morris 162nd Air National Guard Base. For the 2026 military baby shower, Madera Post 131 presented a check for $2,000 to Caring Hearts and Hands along with baby shower donations from their members. Representing Post 131 with the check was the Post 131 President, Dianne Grahan, and Jan Melhorn, American Legion and Caring Hearts and Hands Member.

Quail Creek Veterans (QCVGA) membership is open to all Quail Creek residents who are U.S. military veterans, former first-responders as well as those that would like to support our mission. We offer golf and social (non-golfing) memberships. QCVGA mission is to support veterans’ focused charities of which the annual military baby shower is one. Rene Gill, QCVGA President, presented Caring Hearts and Hands with a $500 check.

The Quail Creek Lady Putters is one of the oldest chartered clubs in Quail Creek, founded in 2003. What started with just 25 members has grown into a wonderful group of more than 175 ladies.

At its heart, the club was created for women who may not be part of an organized golf league but still want to enjoy the game, get outdoors, and connect with others. It is about so much more than putting—it is about friendship, support, sharing time together and working on philanthropic projects.

For the 2026 military baby shower, Lady Putters have been busy making baby quilts/blankets and shopping for baby items, as well as collecting cash donations. Janet Wegner, Lady Putter Member, presented to Caring Hearts and Hands these in kind gifts and cash donations, totaling over $500.

All three of these organizations made it possible for Caring Hearts and Hands to buy baby gifts and increase our inventory of baby quilts/blankets and clothes.

A Big ThankYou and Salute To These Organizations!
