Judy Mang and Darlene O’Leary.
On April 18 players from the Duplicate Bridge Club (and their significant others) gathered at the home of Darlene O’Leary to enjoy pizza and refreshments before our snowbirds leave for the summer. The weather was perfect and the turnout was great. It was a time to enjoy each other’s company without a deck of cards on the table! We even had a few extra pizzas which were donated that evening to our very surprised and appreciative local fire department.
The Duplicate Bridge Club has games on Wednesday afternoons at 12:30 p.m. and Friday mornings at 8:45 a.m., both in the Silver Rooms at the Madera Clubhouse. Players of all levels are welcome. Don’t have a partner? No problem: we’ll help find one for you. Played in the service or in college but haven’t played in a while? No problem: we’ll be sponsoring a couple of “refresher” sessions in the coming months. Watch for details in future editions of the QC Crossing and What’s Happening. We’re a fun group who enjoys a little friendly competition (emphasis on fun and friendly)!
