The Writers and Poets of Quail Creek began the new year with a well-attended meeting on Jan. 5. The session was led by resident club member Nancy Strom. Nancy has published a popular children’s book and is an active club member.
In the upcoming session, there will be a panel discussion exploring options for writing, publishing, and marketing anything we write. The panel will be composed of published authors David Bareiss, Nancy Strom, and Paul Riggins.
Paul is the primary facilitator of the Writers and Poets, and he is one of the few remaining members of the original writers club in Quail Creek. He is a retired college professor. He has published both fiction and nonfiction books for both children and adults. However, he is most passionate about writing poetry. His poetry has appeared in many different books, on websites, and in various blogs. His most recent book is titled One Love: A Collection of Poems and Thoughts Meant to Bring Us All Closer Together.
The current writers and poets are an active group of published and nonpublished residents, experienced and novice writers, and individuals with a wide range of life experiences. And our Together Works turnkey publishing service can assist any resident with a low-cost publishing experience.
We meet on the first and third Thursday of every month at 1 p.m. in the Kino Center.
