Every Quail Creek unit has its own personality, and Unit 30/30A West shines with a wonderful blend of connection, creativity, and genuine neighborly warmth. Nestled north of Quail Crossing Boulevard along the south side of Laguna Oaks Drive, Unit 30/30A West is a place where neighbors know each other well, friendships run deep, and community spirit feels right at home.

Helping keep that spirit thriving is an enthusiastic leadership team led by Unit Rep Roni Carrick and Co-Rep Lynn Kern. Roni was inspired to step into the role after the thoughtful leadership of longtime Unit representatives George and Candance, who helped guide Unit 30A through the transition of the Unit Rep Club from a standing committee of the QC Board into its current Chartered Club status. Today, Roni and Lynn are a dynamic team whose energy and enthusiasm are contagious.

Interestingly, both Roni and Lynn arrived in Quail Creek about three years ago, each relocating from different places. Roni came from Bend, Oregon, while Lynn made the move from New Mexico. In a twist of perfect timing, they purchased two of the last lots available in the unit. Those lots had originally been reserved years earlier as a possible golf course entrance, but when plans changed, the opportunity opened for both of them to secure beautiful north/south-facing homesites with open space behind them, and next door to each other!

Although Unit 30/30A West was already a well-established neighborhood, Roni and Lynn were the “new neighbors on the block.” When George and Candance approached them about taking on the Unit Rep and Co-Rep roles in January of 2025, they jumped in wholeheartedly and quickly became an integral part of the community fabric.

Their very first Unit event was a Meet and Greet held in the Billiards area of the newly opened Canyon Club. The gathering gave neighbors a chance to reconnect while enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of the new venue. The turnout was well attended, allowing new introductions and renewing old friendships. It set the tone for the welcoming and connected community they continue to nurture today.

Another of their favorite memories was the Christmas Cookie Exchange, where neighbors shared favorite recipes, laughter, and stories while getting to know each other even better. Looking ahead, Unit 30/30A West is excited about upcoming Women and Wine gatherings and a possible men’s social event, all made possible through the involvement and creativity of resident volunteers.

Unit 30A is a wonderful reminder that strong communities are built through simple moments of connection, shared experiences, and neighbors willing to step forward and make a difference.

And remember, many Quail Creek units are still looking for Unit Reps and Co-Reps! If you are interested in learning more, please contact Unit Chair Bobbi Gordon at ogbg@sbcglobal.net. The next Unit Rep Club meeting will be held Tuesday, July 20 at 3 p.m. in the Silver Room at the Madera Clubhouse.
