On-the-Go group had an exciting visit to the Alfie Norville Gem & Mineral Museum. On the way to the museum, the group visited El Presido Park to view the veteran and war memorials and The Embrace, the memorial dedicated to the Tucson Jan. 8, 2011, shooting victims.

Elizabeth, our docent, educated us about the origins of the beautiful crystals, minerals, and gems. Included in the museum are the Mineral Evolution Gallery, the Arizona Gallery (turquoise), and the Gem Gallery.

The immense collection showcased gems from Arizona and around the world, which were exquisite, fascinating, and definitely eye popping! In the Gem Gallery, the group was amazed by the beautiful gemstones, as well as the dazzling jewelry created by expert designers.

Following our tour, the group had lunch at The Monica restaurant.
