MOAA plans holiday dinner

Peggy McGee

The holidays will be the theme of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) dinner on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 5 p.m. in the Crystal Ballroom 1 and 2. Following the social period dinner will feature a choice of prime rib with a tangy horseradish sauce or grilled salmon. Both entrees will be accompanied by seasonal vegetables. The meal will end with a decadent chocolate mousse pie, all for $26.50. There also will be a cash bar.

Rumor has it there will be a visit from Jolly Old St. Nick or a reasonable facsimile of Santa. The new officers and key board members for 2020 will be installed that evening and include Quail Creek residents Elliott Jones as 1st vice president (Membership); Peggy McGee, 2nd vice president (Programs); Myra McCune, treasurer; Jadine Hilt, secretary; Marianne Rogers Faust, JROTC liaison and historian; and John Chernoski, legislative affairs.

Interested officers, retired, former, current, National Guard and reserve, and public health may make reservations by contacting Quail Creek resident Phil Lamb at 520-771-6098 or 503-730-3664 no later than Dec. 3. There is a $25 annual membership fee that can be paid at any meeting.
