Lady Putters welcome new members

Peggy McGee

Although any time is a good time to join the Lady Putters, now is an even better time since those becoming members now will have their dues paid until the end of 2020. And $15 for annual dues is one of the best deals around. Interested ladies, both owners and renters, are invited to give the Putters a try before deciding whether to join.

The Lady Putters meet every Wednesday throughout the year, though the starting times do vary with the season. Right now, they begin at 10 a.m. with check-in starting at 9:15 a.m. Starting with the first Wednesday in May they switch to summer hours. There is a $1 weekly greens fee.

Golf dress codes apply—no denim, tank tops, short shorts, or spandex are allowed, and rubber soled shoes must be worn to protect the greens. During the cooler weather, turtlenecks, vests, or jackets are more the norm. Every six weeks, there is a luncheon (or a brunch during the summer when they start putting earlier) where the ladies gather to celebrate their victories and share a few laughs.
