Beginning bridge classes coming to Quail Creek in January

Mickey Zimny

Gary Mitchell, expert bridge player and teacher, will offer a 15-week series of beginning bridge classes on Friday mornings starting Jan. 3 through April 24 (no class Feb. 28 and March 6). Whether you are someone who has never played bridge or have not played in a long time and want to start again, this class is for you. Gary will start at the very beginning and cover the basics of bidding, play of the hand, and defense.

Classes will be held on Friday mornings in the Mesquite Room at the Kino Center from 9 to 11 a.m. No partner is required.

The cost of the class series is $150 and includes Gary’s 400-page beginner’s book, which will be sent out via email attachment.

Gary brought his teaching skills and expertise to Quail Creek bridge players over a year ago. As a testament to his instruction, he’s developed a loyal following who continue to attend his novice and intermediate classes held in the Mesquite room at the Kino Center on Sundays from 1 to 3 p.m. Gary’s knowledge, humor, and accessibility make learning bridge fun, as it should be!

To register for these classes or if you have questions or concerns, contact Gary Mitchell at [email protected] or 520-762-7611. Also, please identify whether you are a Quail Creek resident or not. Registration deadline is Dec. 31.
