Ho, ho, ho. Here comes Santa Claus. The Green Valley Chapter of Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) will host a holiday dinner at Grill on the Green, 5800 S. Camino Del Sol. The restaurant is next to the Canoa Ranch Pro Shop. To enable everyone to get home before it’s too dark, festivities will begin at 4 p.m. on Dec. 15. Dinner will be served at 4:30 p.m. The menu will be the traditional turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, green vegetable, and cranberry sauce, with pumpkin pie for dessert. The same meal with ham instead of turkey will also be available. Vegetarian and gluten-free options may be ordered. Nonalcoholic beverages are included, and a cash bar will be available. Cost for the meal is $30 with checks payable to “GV MOAA.”
The holiday dinner is the time that the chapter presents a small gift to the members in appreciation for their support throughout the year. New members who join at the dinner will be eligible to receive a gift. The money comes from dues and not from donations made to the Scholarship and Military Assistance Fund.
All currently serving officers and warrant officers, retired, former, reserve, and national guard from the five military services, as well as officers in the Public Health Service and the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, are eligible for MOAA membership, as are spouses of deceased officers. Dues are $25 a year for military members and $15 for spouses.
Reservations can be made by contacting Quail Creek resident Jack Bundy at 951-760-8706 or [email protected]. Deadline to sign up is Dec. 8.
