The Quail Creek Fights Back Relay For Life team is inviting all cancer survivors and caregivers to be honored at the American Cancer Society Relay For Life walk at Rancho Resort Park, 15900 S. Rancho Resort Blvd. (La Canada and Sahuarita Roads). Opening ceremonies are at 11 a.m. on April 1. The celebratory Survivor/Caregiver laps take place at 11:15 a.m. A free Survivor/Caregiver social will be at noon. Family and friends are invited to join the walk at any time in celebration of “More Cancer Survivor Birthdays.” Survivors should register online now as a member of the Quail Creek Fights Back team and get a free “Cancer Survivor” T-shirt delivered in time for the Relay. Others who raise at least $100 and register soon will get a “Hope” T-shirt mailed to them before the walk. Go to www.relayforlife.org/gvsahuaritaaz to sign up for the Quail Creek team. Sign up early to get a shirt.
Everyone is invited to participate in the walk from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. There will be raffle prizes, special cancer theme laps, game prizes, food trucks, music, and entertainment throughout the day. Around 8 a.m. the lights go low, luminaria bags are lit, and individuals walk laps listening to the names of those who have been touched by cancer or lost their cancer battle. It’s a very moving event.
