The Women of Quail Creek’s (TWOQC) Spring Fling was a fun filled Hawaiian-themed luncheon. Attendees were encouraged to wear tropical attire for the event with each receiving a colorful lei to wear. Tables were decorated with appropriate flowers and greenery, The result was a visual delight!
The Ukulele Group of Quail Creek entertained everyone with a variety of Hawaiian songs, encouraging the audience to sing along. The drink of the day at the bar was a Mai Tai made by our favorite bartenders, Bruce and Pam.
After opening remarks by TWOQC president Janet Shropshire as well as TWOQC programs director Martha Parsons, it was time for lunch: A delicious lunch entrée of bacon-wrapped shrimp skewers on a bed of rice with citrus dressing and Asian slaw was the entrée, all followed by pineapple upside-down cake for dessert—delicious!
Afterwards, TWOQC past president Debi Gutknecht presented the post-lunch entertainment: An enthusiastic group of TWOQC women dancing the hula onstage.
Any woman living in Quail Creek, whether full-time or snowbird, is encouraged to join The Women of Quail Creek! Since there are so many groups within the large 300 plus member organization, representing a wide variety of activities, you are sure to find something that’s right up your alley!
TWOQC sub-groups include the scholarship committee, community outreach, honor flight, in my kitchen, on the go, connecting over coffee, arts and crafts, rock painting, games and more. There is certainly something for everyone!
Twice a year TWOQC holds a luncheon like the Luau, where all members are welcome to attend. And don’t forget that due to the charitable activities of the scholarship and community outreach committees, TWOQC is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, so that any contributions you choose to make to these worthy causes are fully tax deductible.
