The holidays are just around the corner, a traditional time of giving to help others in their time of need. Most of us have been fortunate enough to earn a pension in return for our years of working, so we are often able to help the less fortunate.
Lately, we have all heard about shipping delays and unavailability of some products. The Women of Quail Creek (TWOQC) are here to help you face that challenge while helping others. This year, instead of asking residents to donate items, the club will save you a trip to the shopping mall by hosting a contactless holiday fundraising event. Between Nov. 22 and Dec. 31, residents are asked to consider making a monetary donation to TWOQC.
TWOQC’s main goal will be raising funds to enable them to continue to provide scholarships in 2022. Girls graduating from both Sahuarita and Walden Grove high schools in 2022 will have first priority for the scholarships. Additional monies will be used to help nontraditional female students return to school to complete their education or embark on a new career field.
Should the fund drive take the charitable endeavor above the $15,000 goal earmarked for scholarships, then funds will be donated to local charities based on the results of needs assessments.
With the beginning of the Thanksgiving season, let us all remember how fortunate we are by opening our hearts to those in need. Please help us in this endeavor by sending a check payable to “TWOQC” to 2312 E. Mayview Drive, Green Valley, AZ 85614.
At this time, TWOQC is not a 501(c)(3), so donations are not deductible for tax purposes.
