Billy Kovacs, Lora Nastase and Duane Blumberg are to speak at the February 17 meeting of the Democratic Club of Quail Creek, at 3:00 p.m. at the Ocotillo Room, Kino Conference Center.
Billy Kovacs is a candidate for CD2. Mr. Kovacs is a small business owner in Tucson, entrepreneur and community activist. He has long worked for positive change in southern Arizona and is committed to making the Second District a better place to live, work and raise a family. He believes we need less politics and more progress in Washington, and is running for Congress to bring a new vision, new direction and a new generation of leadership.
Mr. Kovacs recently accepted a highly competitive fellowship to the Arizona Center for Civic Leadership-Flinn Brown Civic Leadership Academy. He is a member of the Southern Arizona Leadership Council. He is currently employed as Operations Manager at the historic Hotel Congress. He was educated in public schools, attending Pima County Community College and the University of Arizona. He currently lives in the Sam Hughes neighborhood of Tucson.
Lora Nastase is a candidate for the Sahuarita Town Council. Ms. Nastase is a community volunteer who has recently participated in the Emerge Arizona Class of 2018 Candidate Training Program. She cites that public education, sustainable infrastructure and environmental protections, as key issues of importance. Ms. Natase lives in Sahuarita with her husband and children.
Duane Blumberg is the former Sahuarita Town Mayor, and has served on the Town Council for many years. He will be speaking on the current events and issues facing the Town of Sahuarita and how residents of Quail Creek can become more engaged in electing members of the Town Council. Mr. Blumberg resides in Quail Creek.
