April 18 through 20, our Quail Creek Ladies Golf Association had our annual Member/Guest Copper Quail Classic “Swing with Bling” Tournament.
The festivities began on April 18 with a scheduled practice round, then a delicious buffet and bar at the Pro Shop, with betting taking place for all two-player teams hoping to win, place, or show in our 5-Hole Flighted Horse Race. Great food and drink, laughter, and cheering took place.
On April 19 we played a Partner Best Ball format, followed by a wonderful plated dinner in the Madera ballroom. The dining room was aglow and very classy and elegant. Early on April 20, we played a Chapman Scotch format. Eight players won Closest to the Pin and competed in a chipping Shootout contest. After a plated lunch, all flighted awards and Overall Gross and Net Winners were announced. Sixty-seven percent of the field won! Afterwards, our director of golf, Josh Wilks, graciously extended Pro Shop hours for some great shopping!
This year we added a Money Tree with 100% payouts to 10 winners, along with their receiving a beautiful art tile made by our talented potter Kathy Brogdon. The four Overall Winners received a stunning, handmade plaque designed and created by Lee Crombie, another talented potter of Quail Creek.
