Valley Assistance Services (VAS) has been helping people in the local area for almost 50 years. Right now, their roof is leaking and so are the windows. The recent rains, though much needed, meant clients and staff had to walk a maze between containers catching the drops coming through the roof. The 35-year-old building that houses VAS is badly in need of many repairs, the most important of which is a new roof.
To raise money for roof repairs, VAS is sponsoring a concert on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 5 p.m. at Valley Presbyterian Church, 2800 S. Camino del Sol. The concert will feature lead vocalists Amber Norgaard on her acoustic guitar and keyboard and Sabra Faulk on bass. They will be accompanied by electric guitarist Danny Krieger, Alex Flores on the sax, and drummer Fred Hayes. Some of these talented artists can often be found entertaining at the Gas Light Theater in Tucson. Amber and Sabre will also be selling their CDs after the concert.
Tickets are available at VAS, 3950 S. Camino del Heroe in the Springs development, Nancy Pantz, Trendz Consignment Shop, Posada Java, Valley Presbyterian Church, and the Green Valley/Sahuarita Chamber of Commerce. Tickets cost only $15, payable by cash or check made payable to Valley Assistance Services.
You will be treated to 75 minutes of music, including a tribute to our nation’s veterans and will help VAS repair a special place that helps restore lives.
Concert tickets will be sold from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on October 17 in the clubhouse, just before bingo. Check What’s Happening for other dates and times tickets will be available at Quail Creek.
VAS is a 501(c)(3) Arizona Qualifying Charitable Organization. This means that donors can get a dollar-for-dollar reduction on their AZ tax liability up to $800 for those filing jointly or up to $400 for single filers.
