Sonoran Spring Fashion Show Offers New Experiences

Connie Vaughan

Caring Hearts & Hands (CHH) will once again be presenting a Fashion Show entitled “Sonoran Spring, Styles, and Sangria” on Tuesday, Feb. 25, to more than 300 women in the Madera clubhouse ballroom. Ruby Jane Fashions of Tubac will present a spring/summer line of resort wear that is comfortable and timeless, with outfits that can go straight from the court or pool to drinks and dinner.

This is CHH’s major fundraiser, with all proceeds donated to YOTO (Youth On Their Own), which supports the high school graduation and continued success of youth experiencing homelessness in Pima County. CHH has an ask from Quail Creek residents: YOTO urgently needs non-perishable food, so bins will be in the Madera clubhouse lobby from Feb. 17 through Feb. 25.

This year’s Fashion Show will continue the Opportunity Raffle and the 50-25-25 cash drawing, along with two new experiences: A Silent Auction and a Pop-Up Store to buy Ruby Jane Fashions. Bring cash and checks to buy raffle and 50-25-25 tickets. Do not forget to use the three free raffle tickets stapled to your Fashion Show ticket. Just print your name on the tickets and deposit in gift bags associated with the raffle prize you want. Of course, we have great raffles, from jewelry and wraps to wine and spa relaxation gifts, so you will want to purchase more raffle tickets to increase your odds.

The Silent Auction will have fabulous gifts to bid on, such as Artisan Southwest necklaces, rounds of golf, Stay n Spa Vacation, wine tour, concert/theatre package, deluxe Links golf bag, and much more, with values upwards of $500. So, bring extra checks to bid on these great items!

Ruby Jane’s Pop-up Store will have Fashion Show clothes available for purchase from 1:30 to 5 p.m. And Quail Creek ladies not able to attend the Fashion Show can stop by and shop from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Madera clubhouse. Ruby Jane Pop-up Store takes cash, check, and credit cards. Ten percent of sales will be donated to YOTO, so you can feel good about shopping.

Donations are welcomed, and YOTO qualifies for the Arizona Tax Credit with up to $470 per person or $938 per couple (tax year 2024) and for tax year 2025, up to $495 per person or $987 per couple can be directly deducted, dollar-for-dollar, from taxes you owe the State of Arizona. It’s not too late to utilize this credit for tax year 2024 with YOTO donations made through April 15, 2025. Please make your check payable to YOTO (write “CHH YOTO Fundraiser” in the memo area) and deliver to Sue Ann Obremski at 531 N. Keyes Road (YOTO box).

Arizonians like the tax credit, because it allows them to keep tax dollars in the local community. By designating a tax credit to YOTO, you are effectively ensuring that local Pima County Youth receive the support they need to stay in school and succeed!
