RV Club Happenings

Mary Jensen

For five days at the end of October, the Quail Creek RV Club made their (now getting to be) annual trip to Catalina State Park. It’s located a convenient hour’s drive north to Oro Valley. It’s a beautiful state park with large sites, right at the foothills looking at the back of Mount Lemmon. It’s a popular park, so we had to reserve our spots last spring.

Ten rigs, all with very different types of RVs, chose sites close to each other. The group enjoyed a happy hour to meet and greet everyone on the first night. We welcomed several new members. We had a dinner-type potluck another night, and our last night was at Guadalajara’s, who easily hosted all 20 of us with a tasty dinner.

No matter what we did during the day, most of us gathered for an evening campfire to share the day. There was an arts and crafts and food and wine festival nearby. A trip to Topgolf was a highlight for many of us, and a few of us golfed at Quarry Pines one day. There’s always lots of shopping and restaurants up in that area to visit.

Then in November, a small group also went to Buckeye Ranch RV Park. A few of us visited our sister community up there, PebbleCreek, to golf. It’s a nice course with wide fairways!

If you have an RV or are thinking of getting one, come join us. It’s a great way to meet nice, friendly, somewhat adventurous new friends! We meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. in the Silver Room. Come join us!
