Residents enjoy Taste of Tucson

Joyce Clark

Wednesday, October 24, was a beautiful, sunny day for 12 participants to taste a selection of restaurants in downtown Tucson. After organizing a carpool, the group parked their cars at the Mercado San Augustine and rode the clean and convenient streetcar into town. While walking down Congress Street the docents pointed out historical markers and buildings in Tucson’s colorful past. Everyone enjoyed the small plates offered at Augustin Kitchen, Elliots, Miss Saigon, The Acai Bowl, Thin Crust Pie and The Screamery. We heard amusing stories about the Fox Theater and the characters who made history in the Hotel Congress.
