Steve Sanford and Jim Bremer
The Quail Creek Republican Club met at the Kino Conference Center on Sept. 18. Steve Sanford, president, welcomed everyone and provided the invocation. Ellen Entwistle led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Membership Chairman Lin Sanford summarized membership stating that membership was now at 258; and 2027 membership renewal would begin in October. You can become a member or renew your membership by going to the Quail Creek Republican Club website at www.quailcreekrepublicans.com.
President Sanford encouraged all to get out and vote and the importance to encourage like-minded Republicans to vote this midterm. Winning is a matter of numbers and President Trump will need the support in the House and Senate to get things done.
President Sanford also encouraged the membership, if they had not already, to watch a replay of our July 10, “250th USA Birthday Celebration” presentation on YouTube titled “Our 80 Year History.”
President Sanford then introduced Precinct 84 Chair Christi Emery. Christi reiterated that Precinct 84 is the largest in Arizona. She encouraged all members to double check their voter registration is still correct. This can be done at: recorder.pima.gov/Voter_dashboard_login.
Christi also discussed a tour available at the Election Department on Oct. 14 and 15. Contact Christ at chis2tuc2@aol.com for information.
Additional information can be found on Precinct 84 Website: www.pima84.info.
President Sanford then introduced Bill Beard, Executive Director for the Arizona Republican Party. Bill talked at length about election integrity and the current mix of voters: Independents, Republicans and Democrats, the largest block being Independents. Many voters are traditionally voters in the Presidential election cycle and skip the Midterms. This Midterm is especially important and he urged members to help those who normally sit this one out get out and vote. Bill then introduced John Backer, a Green Valley resident who is helping the effort by homing in on data to assist those to contact voters who haven’t actually voted to do so. This can be done down to the neighborhood level. Bill gave some examples of how this can be done on a one to one basis creating relationships with your neighbors. Anyone can help at any level they choose.
President Sanford then introduced Kristen Pruett from Turning Point Action and Member-at-Large for the Pima County Republican Party in Southern Arizona. A Tucson native, she focuses on voter registration, precinct committeeman recruitment, and developing local activist networks across the region.
Kristin discussed the Turning Point USA structure: TP Endowment, TP Action, and TPUSA Faith as well as TP PAC. Kristin’s focus is on Turning Point Action, which is a 501(c)(4) organization founded in 2019 by Charlie Kirk. The organization’s mission is to embolden the conservative base through grassroots activism and provide voters with the necessary resources to elect true conservative leaders.
Our next meeting will be Friday, Oct. 16, 9 a.m. at the Kino Conference Center featuring Arizona House Representative Rachel Keshel and Captain Seth Keshel, former Army Intel Officer and author of Captain K’s Corner.
