Thanksgiving morning was full of energy and holiday cheer as Quail Creek hosted its Second Annual Turkey Trot, co-sponsored by the Quail Creek Running Club and the HOA. The Trot drew more than 200 enthusiastic residents, bringing together walkers, runners, kids, and even dogs—many decked out in colorful, creative costumes. The weather was perfect, with the sun shining and a great “Trot” temperature.
Participants arrived in everything from inflatable “riding turkey” outfits to festive tops and accessories, giving the morning a fun and spirited atmosphere. Children joined in on the excitement with their own holiday-themed attire, while four-legged friends trotted alongside in adorable costumes of their own.
After socializing and a brief warm-up, the 9 a.m. start initiated some people running while most of the group walked around the Quail Creek loop. People chose between three routes around the loop: 1 mile, 2.3 miles, and 2.9 miles. During the Trot, some great conversations took place, new friendships were established, and wonderful exercise was enjoyed. The Quail Creek Grill added to the warm, community feel by generously donating hot chocolate, providing a cozy treat for everyone before and after the Trot.
The Turkey Trot was a wonderful reminder of the strong community spirit at Quail Creek, bringing neighbors together to celebrate the holiday with fun, fitness, and plenty of laughter.
Organizers are already looking forward to an even bigger event this year. The Third Annual Turkey Trot will be held this year on Thanksgiving Day. Let’s get even more residents participating!
