On Tuesday, November 12, the Quail Creek TRIPS Committee organized a group of 33 Quail Creek residents on a day full of experiences of Tucson Educational campuses.
The group enjoyed the Steward Observatory Mirror Lab on the University of Arizona campus, having a unique opportunity to experience how UA innovations are producing the world’s largest telescope mirrors right here on campus. This tour was a behind the scenes look at the groundbreaking work being done at the facility which is located under the UA Football Stadium.
The group was served lunch at the Ai Bistro which was a unique experience for everyone. Ai Bistro is part of the school’s culinary program. The participants enjoyed a three course meal that changes regularly and highlights the cuisines taught at The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Tucson.
Anyone who might want to experience either one of these places, which are open to the public, should contact the Steward Observatory Mirror Lab at http://mirrorlab.as.arizona.edu/tours or call 520-626-8792 and the Ai Bistro http://www.artinstitutes.edu/tucson/about/ai-bistro or call 520-318-2726, serving lunch on Tuesdays and Wednesdays by reservation only.
