It took a phone call from J. R. Brannon, New Homes Sales Manager, to the Green Valley Fire Department to set the wheels in motion to enable residents to play Santa. On December 3, a simple message Holiday Toy Collection boxes are once again in the Sales Office appeared in What’s Happening and the toys started to appear. And appear, and appear.

The Fire Department came to Quail Creek the week before Christmas and filled a large truck. When they returned on December 21, their eyes popped as they walked in the door and saw how much more was here. This time the donations filled a fire truck and ambulance.

The Green Valley Fire District firefighters distributed donated toys to local families in need just in time for Christmas. Some of them were earmarked for the young residents who live with their moms in the Genesis House shelter for victims of domestic abuse in the Green Valley/Sahuarita area.

As this was his first year as Sales Manager, J.R. was appreciative of the caring residents who showed their love for children at this time of year. Fire Department officials remarked that due to the generosity of the residents here the successful toy drive will made a lot of children very happy on Christmas Day.
