The Quail Creek Pickleball Club’s new Social Committee, led by Barb Ware, threw a Monster Bash on Oct. 25 to begin the new pickleball season. The committee, comprised of Barb Ware, Tricia Kordalski, Susan Grass, Georgine Thomas, Jan Allen, Michelle Skoglund, Shelley Kais, Dawn Perez, Liz Yuengling, and Bill Foraker, organized round robin play for 56 club members on Quail Creek’s upper courts. Each player was given a card letting them know what courts they were on for each round of play. Everyone enjoyed six rounds of mixed doubles pickleball with different partners. Music accompanied play over the courts’ sound system, attended to by Bill Foraker and Liz Yuengling.
After play, the party moved to the lower ramada where both players and guests enjoyed Subway sandwiches, drinks, and dessert. A prize raffle added to the festivities, with players receiving a fun variety of gifts.
The Social Committee is planning a variety of other events. These include celebrating love in February, spring in April, summer in May, and America in July. They are also planning some surprise pop-ups at the courts. The Social Committee’s goals are to provide fun and safe play for all skill levels, themed parties with food and music, and opportunities for making connections with other players.
