Putters Resume Activities After Overseeding

Peggy McGee

After the putting greens were closed for several weeks because of the annual overseeding, the Lady Putters were able to resume their weekly putting schedule on Oct. 12. Without an opportunity to practice their putting skills, no one got a hole-in-one on the money hole on their first day back, but the following week, three members, Connie Ownby, Diane Gordon, and Linda Kelly, each earned $5 for that achievement. On Oct. 26 Patsy Koenig was the sole money hole winner.

The Putters are in the process of welcoming back the winter residents, and invite new residents to give the club a try. All you need is $1 for the weekly greens fee, a putter, and a ball. There are a lot of ladies who will give newcomers hints on how to hit the ball, so those who have not putted before won’t be lost on what to do.

The ladies gather on the back patio of the clubhouse every Wednesday starting at 9:30 a.m. to get checked in. After announcements, which include welcoming new members and guests, putting begins promptly at 10 a.m.
