It was the day the Lady Putters had long awaited. Joel Jaress, Quail Creek’s Golf Pro, was joining them for putting to give the ladies some tips on how to read the green.
Each team had five ladies and Joel gave pointers to each of the 18 groups. With each group he putted towards hole No. 9, designated as the money hole. The ladies in turn tried their luck. Terry Miers was the only Putter who scored a hole-in-one. She earned $5 for her achievement.
However, the most spectacular hole-in-one that day was the one that Dorie Franklin hit. She was also at the starting point for the money hole but her ball hit the crest of a hill and kept on going and going and finally went into hole No. 16 on the far side of the green as a hole-in-one. Alas, she did not win $5 for that spectacular putt.
Joel did not score a hole-in-one this year.
