Bill Entwistle
The Quail Creek Performing Arts Guild (PAG) is pleased to announce that they are now able to perform again! PAG has been busily preparing for their annual Christmas Show, which will be performed on Dec. 9, 10, 11. This year’s show will be directed by Bill Entwistle, who recently made Quail Creek a permanent home for him and his wife, Ellen. Audition dates are Sept. 19 and 20 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Clubhouse Ballroom. No preparations are required for auditions, as music and scripts will be provided. For further information, please call or text Bill Entwistle at 815-257-2279 or email Bill at [email protected].
This will be the first show that Bill has directed for PAG and he is excited at the prospect of meeting other fellow thespians and singers from Quail Creek. The play, which was written by Bill and his writing partner, Gregg Carr, is called Christmas at O’Hare. The show’s storyline, in a nutshell, is about a group of people getting stranded at O’Hare International Airport during a blizzard around Christmas. As the storyline opens, you will find that one of the couples who get stranded happens to have with them some fruitcake. But it’s a special fruitcake—a fruitcake laced with marijuana! As you would suspect, mayhem takes place. With Christmas music entwined in the story, one could call this show a Christmas musical. If all goes as intended, this one-act show will be broken up into sections to allow for a wonderful dinner prepared by our fabulous chefs of Quail Creek. To conclude the festivities, the PAG Choir will also provide a few songs of Christmas music to enhance your evening’s experience.
Director Bill is looking for all who are interested in auditioning for the show. There are speaking parts, with no singing required. There are singing parts, with no speaking required. And as always, a combination of both! Anyone interested in auditioning for the show does not have to be a member of PAG. However, to be in the show, those people are required to join the organization. For those who have an interest in the arts but are not yet a member of PAG, this is a great opportunity to come and meet the people involved, and then make a decision. If you are not available to attend on the audition dates, Bill is very flexible, and will work with you so that you can audition—you can even Zoom audition from another state! So, if you enjoy theatre and/or singing, come check us out!
