Mike Dittl Receives Merlin Award from QCCC

Mike Dittl receiving the Merlin Anderson Outstanding Contributor Award

The Quail Creek Computer Club (QCCC) recognizes members who have gone above and beyond to make significant contributions to the club. While the Computer Club has been around for more than 20 years, the Merlin Anderson Outstanding Contributor Award (named for one of the club founders) practice began around 2016. In club history, only eight members have been recognized for this award.

This year, the club’s board of directors has chosen Mike Dittl to receive the Merlin Award. Mike is a longtime QCCC member whose significant contributions are unsurpassed. Mike is the current club membership chair. He is a past board member and contributes frequently to helping others at our weekly Open Labs. He also teaches many, many classes—probably more than anyone else.

In addition to all of the above, Mike went way above and beyond to champion a significant overhaul of the club website this year. Mike spent many months shepherding the process through finding a new website provider, identifying problems and solutions to the old website, and overseeing and troubleshooting the construction of the new website. The new website is considerably improved over the old one, and most of the credit goes to Mike Dittl.

For his past and continued contributions, the QCCC board is proud to award Mike Dittl the 2023 Merlin Anderson Outstanding Contributor Award.
