Meet the Social Activities Advisory Council

QC Social Activities Advisory Council

Maureen Brealey and Patty Zatkin

QC residents have been asking, “Who are these super-fun people?” Okay, maybe we added the “super-fun” to your question, but we are having a great, big, super amount of fun, and we want to make sure you know about it! Let’s start with an introduction. We are the newly formed QC Social Activities Advisory Council (aka Activities Council), a dedicated group of residents (your neighbors) who are committed to providing new, fun, and interesting activities. Our activities are in addition to what is scheduled by Epi Torres, QC’s director of banquets, activities and events. Epi is our liaison and oversees our council. It is our mission to bring new and exciting opportunities to Quail Creek residents.

What are some of our activities so far? Have you played Tuesday Trivia in the lounge at the Grill yet? It’s a fantastic new tradition at 6 p.m. every Tuesday! Did you get in line early for your tickets to the QC-only night at the Gaslight Theater (sold out in 50 minutes!)? Remember the Winterhaven Holiday Lights Tour? It was sold out, too, and so much fun! How about the Holiday Golf Cart Parade, and Jingle Mingle cookies and hot chocolate with $50 gift card prizes, along with caroling around the piano? Here’s a hint: We were the silly ones in the Christmas tree costumes. We also led the decorating team making the clubhouse sparkle and shine for the holiday season. And you may have seen us on Mondays and Fridays assisting as check-in hosts for most of the concerts this season. Did you find a hidden elf during the holidays or a leprechaun on St. Paddy’s Day and win a gift card? Did you find Valentine chocolate boxes? There were hundreds of boxes to be found in the public areas of Quail! All these “super-fun” activities and events are your Activities Council at work!

We’ve been busy, and there is so much more to come! Be sure to check the What’s Happening in Quail Creek daily, as we’re planning an Easter egg hunt, an Arizona wine tour, a BFD (bands, food trucks, and dancing) event, summer movie matinees, a ‘50s sock hop, 4th of July events, and a “Road to Walmart” party, and so much more is in the works for you!
