Congratulations to fellow QCMGA member Larry Brooks for scoring a hole-in-one on Coyote number 4 on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023. Way to go, Larry!
Quoting him, “Yes, after more than 55 years of golfing, I finally scored my first hole-in-one. Rudy Natalini and I were playing the Silver/Copper combination tees that day. Our other two regulars did not join us because of the cold and lengthy frost delay. Coyote number 4 from the Copper tees was playing at 140 yards to the back (blue) pin position, according to Rudy’s rangefinder. I would normally hit an 8-iron, but because of the firm and fast green conditions, I thought the 9-iron would run out, and the green does tend to pick up speed from the middle toward the back. When we walked up to the green, Rudy’s 8-iron shot had, in fact, rolled long and off the green, but my ball was nowhere in sight. I looked for a moment in the Velcro behind the green, not believing it could have rolled out that far. I decided to take a look in the cup, and there was my Titleist TruFeel ball. When we drove up to the number 5 tee box, waiting for the group to leave the tee box, they wanted to know what all the whooping and hollering was for. The golf gods must be with me, as in November, for the first time, I shot my age [76].”
