Lady Putters Will Chip in Fore Charity

Peggy McGee

On Oct. 30 the Lady Putters will join forces with the Ladies 9- and 18-Hole Golf Associations to help four local charities. While the golfers are on the course, the Putters will be on the putting green, which will feature some unusual and challenging holes and perhaps the opportunity to putt with a broom instead of a club! When the fun is over, the three groups will retreat to the Crystal Ballroom for lunch.

This is when the efforts to Chip in Fore Charity will really begin. The four charities that the clubs chose to support are Valley Assistance Services, Sahuarita Food Bank and Resource Center, Parkinson’s Support Group, and Hands of a Friend, which helps female victims of domestic abuse in the local area. Each of these charities qualifies for the dollar-for-dollar tax credit on Arizona tax returns, even if one does not itemize. The ladies have the opportunity to visit with representatives of each charity and make cash, check, and credit card donations. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, with the proceeds being divided among the charities.

Ladies should sign up for this event through their respective golf organizations.
