Lady Putters Move to Winter Hours

Peggy McGee

When putting resumes on Oct. 15, after the overseeding of the putting green, the Lady Putters will move to their winter hours and winter putting rules. Check-in will begin at 9:30 a.m., with putting starting at 10 a.m. The mornings will be a bit cooler to allow for the later starting time, but it should still be shorts weather. Newcomers are invited to give the Lady Putters a try. All they need to do is show up on the back patio of the clubhouse with a $1 bill, a putter, and one ball. There are no lost balls on the putting green!

The rule for the Lady Putters is that they get three tries to get their ball into the hole, and if they are unsuccessful in their attempt, they pick up their ball and take a 4 as their score for that hole.

The Putters meet every Wednesday throughout the year, but they start at 8 a.m. during the heat of the summer. Although they try to improve their scores from week to week, their main rule is to have fun and enjoy the camaraderie. And the more seasoned Putters are always willing to give tips to help those who are new to the group.

We hope to see you on the putting green soon.
