Saturday, October 26 is National Make a Difference Day, the nation’s largest day of community service. The Women of Quail Creek invites everyone in Quail Creek to participate in their fourth annual clothing drive to benefit homeless veterans in the Tucson area. The drive will be held in the front parking lot at the Madera Clubhouse from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. What a great time to clean those closets and donate items to help the homeless veterans.
Socks and underwear, which must be new, and backpacks are especially needed. All donated items should be clean and in good condition. Warm clothing for both men and women and donations of travel size toilet articles can always be used and are appreciated.
TWOQC is asking for help the morning of the October 26 collecting, sorting and bagging the clothing. If you can help you would be most welcome. The collected items need to be delivered to the Homeless Office at the Veterans Hospital in Tucson. It takes several vehicles to make the delivery. Everything is loaded and delivered at one time so if you can help transport the donations please contact Peggy McGee at [email protected], phone 520-206-7188 for information.
