We hope everyone has been enjoying the beautiful monsoon rains we’ve been receiving. It’s much-needed relief for our desert landscape! As welcome as the showers are, they’re often followed by something a little less enjoyable: weeds.
If you’re away from home, please ask your landscaper or house-sitter to check your property regularly to help prevent weed growth. We know no one likes getting a weed letter, and trust us, we don’t enjoy sending them either! Now is a great time to talk to your landscaper about applying pre-emergent to help control weed germination.
Common Areas and Golf Course Views
Common areas, golf course views—we all enjoy them: the native desert landscaping, agave, numerous varieties of cactus, especially the majestic saguaro. It may be tempting to purchase a solar light to accent that beautiful saguaro in the common area or on the golf course, or even put a decorative totem pole or other decorative items to enhance the view. Please resist the temptation. We kindly remind you that this is not allowed.
Per ALC Guidelines, Section 4.10 Violation (B):
“The removal or trimming of trees and/or plants, or the alteration of the ground in any manner within these areas, is strictly prohibited and may result in a fine of up to $1,000. In addition, the Property Owners Association may restore the area at the property owner’s expense. Any unauthorized items must be removed. (See CC&R Article 1.9)
Solar Conduit Reminder
If you’ve previously or recently had solar installed, please be sure the conduit on the side of your house and roof is painted to match. If you are away for the summer, mark your calendar to take a look when you return to Quail Creek. Starting Nov. 10, the ALC will be out and about conducting an inspection. Anyone not in compliance will be sent a courtesy notice.
