The Foundation herd: Gulliver, Spanky, Deuce, and Bella Luna
Diane Russell
This year, Equine Voices Rescue and Sanctuary is pleased to invite our community to the Second Annual Harmony and Horses Fundraiser, a heartfelt celebration of rescue, rehabilitation, and the powerful connection between humans and horses. After the success of last year’s event, Harmony and Horses returns as both a fun gathering and an opportunity to support the horses who depend on us every day. Join us on Sunday, March 8, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Longhorn Grill and Saloon located at 28851 S. Nogales Highway in Amado, Ariz.
Since our founding in 2004, harmony has been at the core of everything we do: rescue, rehabilitation, and life-long advocacy for horses in need. For the horses who arrive at our rescue—often neglected, abandoned, abused, or facing uncertain futures—harmony means safety, patience, and the chance to heal at their own pace. Through consistent care, proper nutrition, veterinary treatment, and gentle handling, these horses learn to trust again. Horses that once knew only hardship begin to rediscover comfort, companionship, and peace.
The Harmony and Horses Fundraiser is more than an event. It is a shared commitment to these second chances. Funds raised directly support daily care, including feed, farrier services, veterinary treatments, facility maintenance, emergency rescues, and more. Every ticket purchased, every donation made, and every story shared helps ensure that no horse is turned away due to lack of resources.
This year our event features a lunch buffet including one drink ticket, live music by the Mamma Coal band from Tucson, raffle items, a 50/50 raffle (you don’t have to be present to win), and the ever-popular Pin the Tail on Gulliver! Tickets are $50 in advance and $55 at the door. Tickets are available at equinevoices.org or by calling 520-398-2814.
We are especially grateful to our volunteers and donors who make our mission possible. Because of them, horses once written off now stand healthy, curious, and hopeful. As we come together for this event, we celebrate not only how far we’ve come, but what we can accomplish together with your continued support. Thank you for being part of our journey—and for helping harmony thrive, one horse at a time.
