Life is funny. This time last year, Anne Jones was busy deciding what cookies she would make for the annual QC Tennis Club Cookie Exchange, a tradition she started oh so many years ago. Little did anyone know that a year later, Anne’s tradition would live on without her.
In what has become the very first Anne Jones Memorial Ladies Cookie Exchange, the ladies of the QC Tennis Club displayed a scrumptious array of delectable delights after the matches on Dec. 2 were completed.
As fitting for the occasion, Gary Jones was present to receive the club’s thanks and recognition of his wife Anne’s lasting impact during this season of celebration and hope. A framed tribute to Anne with photos of Christmases past included the inscription, “Bake, Eat, Be Merry—Just Like Anne Would!”
Even the Cookie Monster, aka Tennis Club Coach Donna Yuritic, was enticed to make an impromptu visit and perhaps sample a cookie or three!
