Well, actually Chelsea (in this case) is not a who, but a what! For Quail Creek golfers Chelsea is the name of the Automated Tee Time system, a full-featured online and telephone system for managing tee time requests and bookings.
If you are new to Quail Creek, or just new to Chelsea, please contact a member of the Pro Shop staff to set you up with an account. You will be identified by a member number (typically your telephone number plus a one or two) and, for online access, you’ll choose a password to connect. Once you have a member number you may use a telephone to access Chelsea (just dial 393-2914 and respond to the prompts) or visit the URL http://quailaz.chelseareservations.com and provide your member number and password.
While our Chelsea system has many features, you will likely use the following features most often: Add a (tee time) Request and Add a Booking. You may add a tee time request up to fourteen days prior to your desired play date. When you Add a Request you’ll be asked to identify the desired date of play, desired time window, desired course and to identify the players (up to four per request). We’ll come back to desired time window in a moment. Five days prior to your desired date of play the Chelsea system will determine bookings or assigned tee times. If you’ve submitted your request online you will receive an email advising you of your assigned tee time (booking). You need to do nothing else at this point – just check in at the Pro Shop prior to your assigned tee time and have a great round! But say you just determined you wanted to play three days from now (inside the five day window); you would access Chelsea and select Add a Booking. The system will then show you the available tee times for your play. You may then select an available booking and lock that in online – no further action is required on your part! (To make same-day bookings, you must call the Pro Shop.) Using the Chelsea system to add a tee time request or booking is easy and efficient!
Let’s go back to the desired tee time topic. During peak (winter) season, our tee sheets are full on most days. To avoid being placed on standby, make your desired tee time window as wide as possible. For example, if you identify a desired tee time (start) of 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. it is likely that you will be placed on standby, i.e., you will get a tee time only if space in the 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. hour opens up due to cancellation. However, if you open up the window to 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (for example), you will be more successful. In this case, Chelsea will attempt to get you a tee time as close as possible to your desired 9:00 a.m. but your tee time may be later than 10:00 a.m., say 10:30 a.m. Perhaps that 10:30 a.m. tee time will work for you and you’ve captured an opportunity to play!
Using Chelsea is a great way to manage your golfing schedule! Please contact a Pro Shop staff member if you have a problem using any of Chelsea’s features.
