Captains Paul Schupmann and Doug Stacken celebrating their team’s QC Shootout victory
The third annual Quail Creek (QC) Shootout recently concluded with the defending, three-time champions squad, led by Doug Stacken and Paul Schupmann, winning by a margin of 26.5 to 21.5 points. The opposition team, capably led by Jim Cooley and Larry Mours, was in the hunt until the last few teams finished their matches. The QC Shootout features two 24-man teams engaged in match play over two days, playing scratch golf. The first day has 12 two-man teams playing one 9-hole Best Ball match and one Modified Chapman match. The second day involves 24 18-hole matches. Forty-eight total points are in play, and the final scores resulted in a 26.5 to 21.5 victory for the defending champions. Fun was had by all.
