On Feb. 24, Caring Hearts and Hands of Quail Creek (CHHQC), a philanthropic organization, presented its fourth fashion show, “Just Bee-lieve,” for its annual fundraiser to support YOTO (Youth On Their Own) Pima County.
The theme rang true with anything is possible if you Just Bee-lieve, raising $45,375 dollars, a 200% increase over the previous year! Sue Ann Obremski, CHHQC president, stated, “It is truly heartwarming to see how the residents of Quail Creek and the members of Caring Hearts and Hands along with the Green Valley business community came together to support our efforts on behalf of YOTO. Their generosity and compassion make such a meaningful difference.”
The atmosphere in the Madera Clubhouse was a buzz with the theme of Bees, buzzing on the individual table centerpieces and scattered throughout the opportunity raffles and silent auction items. Once again, Ruby Jane Designs were modeled in the show. And a pop-up shop of Ruby Jane’s Spring/Summer Fashions was available with handmade purses from Lauren, a local Tucson Designer, that were paired with the clothes the models wore. It should be noted that both Ruby and Lauren are women-owned businesses and their clothing and purses are American made in Southern Arizona. And to support YOTO, the pop-up shop donated 10% of its sale proceeds. Ladies could shop before and after the fashion show knowing that they were still contributing to YOTO’s youth.
Two new twists were added to the fashion show. First, all the models were picked based on programs that they founded and/or support in our local communities, ranging from underserved children and youth, suicide prevention, and partners losing partners outreach. The second twist was the 50/50 cash raffle prize this year, with 50% going to YOTO and remainder of the cash prize awarded to four winners. Each winner received 12.5%, which netted $444 per person. All four recipients were pleasantly surprised by their winnings.
As the fashion show closed, Pam Rodgers, the 2026 fashion show chair, commented, “I am quite blessed with so many talented and giving women on my team. They asked, ‘What more can I do?’ not just ‘Where do you want me?’ It truly takes all of us to make such a wonderful and memorable event come out exactly as planned.” Pam has already agreed to chair next year’s fashion show which will be held again in late February 2027.
