For the first time in its 12 year history, The Women of Quail Creek (TWOQC) is partnering with an organization outside of Quail Creek to raise money for a worthy cause. To kick off Veterans Appreciation Week, sponsored by the Sahuarita Unified School District’s (SUSD), TWOQC and the Sahuarita Education Enrichment Foundation will be sponsoring a benefit concert. The event will start at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5 and will feature the Gatekeepers from the Ironwood Hills Church in Tucson.

The fundraiser will be held in the SUSD auditorium, 350 W. Sahuarita Road. There is plenty of free parking. The group will present a variety of melodies, all with a patriotic theme. With its multi-talented vocalists and musicians the Gatekeepers definitely inspire an increased level of patriotism.

Proceeds from the concert will be used for scholarships for students from both Sahuarita and Walden Grove High Schools.

Tickets are $10 each or $20 for families. There will also be a silent auction featuring golf, meals, spa days and other attractions. Tickets can be purchased in the clubhouse lobby from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on September 20 and from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on September 26. They can also be ordered from Pat Neel at 625-4476.

Future sales dates and locations will be announced in What’s Happening.
