Quail Creek Lady Putters enjoy the fun game of putting every Wednesday morning. On November 6, Lady Putters hosted SaddleBrooke MountainView Lady Putters for a friendly competition. The event gives us a chance to visit with fellow Robson Community residents and colleague putters. There were 108 lady putters vying for team and individual prizes. There were 18 teams comprised of three putters from each of the clubs: a wonderful opportunity to get to know each other under the guise of friendly putting competition! A few fun holes were mixed in to spice up the game. Try putting with a plastic baseball bat and a wiffle ball!
Special thanks go to the following ladies for their work on the planning committee: Joan Harrison, Carol McInnis, Freda Caldwell, Judy Hayes, Karen Stevens, Pam Martin, Patty Hall and Priscilla Wright. Registration was managed by Gloria Contreras, Neila Kozel, Kay Davison, Kim Nichols and Vicky Mahr. Thank you, ladies! Thanks also to Ken Haley for giving his day to take pictures which can be viewed on the website.
Most holes-in-one was Linda Weissman with a total of five.
Mystery holes No. 5, 8 and 13 were Ruth Catalinotto No. 5, Nancy Trefethen No. 5 and Laura Baird No. 8.
Lowest individual score for MountainView was Ellen Victor with the lowest score of the day, 37; Quail Creek were Judy Hayes, Nancy McDaniel, Neila Kozel and Peggy Brown, all with a score of 38.
Lowest team score was Team 16, Linda Weissman, Yoshie Pinola, Sylvia Forehand, Pat Schweighardt, Marijo Lewis and Ursula Reichard with a score of 257.
There were two teams tied for second lowest score: Team 1, Freda Caldwell, Nancy McDaniel, Sylvia Perry, Ellen Victor, Hedy O’Donnell and Caryl Mobley and Team 15, Deb Adam, Dee Waggoner, Kathy Laughman, Candy Urbanik, Joanne Neuman and Dorie Pipers. Each team had a score of 260.
Putting was followed by a luncheon with decor in keeping with the theme of Autumn Harvest. Each lady was presented with an orange golf ball imprinted with the Lady Putter’s logo and name. After prizes were awarded for the competition, tickets were drawn for raffle prizes.
