The Auxiliary League of American Legion Madera Post 131 Green Valley hosted their annual spring tea on March 21. The purpose of this tea is to raise funds for philanthropic purposes to support active duty military, veterans, and youth programs in Pima County. The ladies of Caring Hearts and Hands Quail Creek (CHHQC) were invited to this annual event and enjoyed the opportunity to meet the Auxiliary Ladies of Post 131 and learn of their efforts to support the military, especially Green Valley veterans and the Morris Air National Guard 162nd Fighter Wing.
Both the ladies of legion 131 Auxiliary and Caring Hearts and Hands were treated to a traditional tea of finger sandwiches, salads, petit desserts and of course pots of steaming English tea!
Terry Simon, a Caring Heart and Hands member won the prize for the best hat which was judged by American Legion men who were the table servers. A fun day was had by all and funds from the tea will be going to Caring Hearts and Hands of Quail Creek to support the military baby shower and Youth On Their Own (YOTO).
