Phase One of the Quail View Loop mill and pave road project has been completed. This area is shown on the map in red.
Starting on Monday Sept. 14, phase two of the other side of Quail View Loop will be mill and paved. This area is shown on the map in green. Please keep the dates shown below handy and most importantly, please adhere to all directional signs and flaggers. We want to be sure all drivers are safely passing through this area. If you are going home or visiting Units One, Two or Three and would like to bypass the construction you may do so. Please continue on Quail Crossing Blvd, past the dog park and Admin building to Broken Hills. At Broken Hills, you will take a right which will lead you away from the construction to the area you are visiting. If you are not familiar with using Broken Hills, you may use your GPS to assist with locating your destination.
The steps in a Mill and Pave project are:
Milling—removing the top layer of worn asphalt
Paving—laying down a fresh layer of asphalt for a smooth, durable surface
Striping—final touch to the new road
This method is used when roads have deteriorated beyond what surface treatments can fix (meaning, no further options to use Poly Chip to extend the life of the road, it’s time to replace). While this process is more costly than polychip, mill and pave restores structural integrity and provides a like-new appearance. By going out to bid, I was able to negotiate a $76,000 savings. My plan is to use these savings to defray the costs of unexpected road repairs yet this year.

* Tuesday, Sept 22 to Friday, Sept. 25
Striping—Scheduled for the following date:
* Monday, Sept 28.
