And just like that, the first half of 2026 is already behind us. It’s been an incredible start to the year at Quail Creek, and I’m excited to keep building on the momentum we’ve created together.
First, welcome to all of our new homeowners who have recently joined the community. I hope you’re settling in comfortably and finding time to fill your social calendars. As we head into the heart of summer, remember that our 100 plus degree days come with a learning curve. Around here, we survive on air conditioning, sunscreen, pool time—and most importantly, hydration. Even when you don’t feel thirsty, grab some water. It’s a small price to pay for not having to shovel snow or warm up the car.
As we begin the second half of the year, each department manager is kicking off the process of preparing their 2027 budgets. Open communication with our volunteer Finance Committee is essential during budget season. The committee members are: Jim Lubinski, Chair, George Prest, Sondra Walsh, and Shawn Finnegan. The budget process will conclude at the November 23 Board Meeting, where the 2027 budget will be presented and voted on by the POA Board. All homeowners are welcome to attend upcoming Finance Committee meetings, as well as all published Board meetings, to stay informed.
Looking ahead to fall, we will also begin the process of electing one homeowner to serve on the POA Board for the 2027 to 29 term. The Election Committee members are: Stuart Lisk, Chair, Joyce Shumate, Vickie Person, Jack Royer, and John Livingston. The committee has already met to outline key dates and communication milestones. Please keep an eye on your email and on Quail Crossing for updates. Serving on the Board is a meaningful and rewarding way to contribute to the community.
The Architectural Landscape Committee continues to meet 2 times a month to review incoming permit applications from new homeowners working on their initial landscape, other requests by the entire community such as wanting to install a pergola, swimming pool, window or patio shades, mini-spits, and fountains to name a few. Anytime you wish to work on the exterior of your home, a permit application is required. Please stop by the Admin building next to the dog park for more information. ALC committee members are Connie Bandstra and Andrea Marchus, ALC Chairs, Joe Zimny, Pat Colburn, Ditson Hendricks, and Bob Spetter.
