Once again, artists from Quail Creek will participate in the Tubac Center for the Arts Open Studio Tour on March 6, 7, and 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. When you visit one of the 11 locations with a total of 23 artists exhibiting their art for sale, you will be impressed by the incredible talent within our community. Maps of each location will be scattered around our community buildings, including maps at the guardhouse. Each home studio will also have signs posted leading you to their location.

The Tubac Center for the Arts Open Studio Tour is so popular that this year it will be broken up into two different weekends. On Feb. 27 and 28 and March 1 artists in Tubac, Rio Rico, and Amado will present their artwork to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. In the past, artists in our community have not been able to visit other studios, because we all opened our studios on the same days. This year, with the tour broken up into two weekends, Quail Creek, Sahuarita, and Green Valley artists will be free to travel to Tubac and surrounding studios to view other artists’ work.

Quail Creek artists are busy creating new and exciting art right now for you to enjoy. Artwork being presented includes but is not limited to fine art paintings in oil, acrylic, mixed media, watercolor, and scratchboard; gourds; fiber arts; fused and mosaic glass; and wood furniture. Visit each home, meet the artists, take home a lovely piece or two that inspire you, and then have lunch at one of our wonderful restaurants. The public in Southern Arizona is invited to attend. Last year we had more than 600 people come through our studios in Quail Creek, and this year we expect even more. This is a once-a-year opportunity to see museum-quality artwork and meet the artists who create these wonderful masterpieces. Many of the artists have perfected their skills by taking classes from professional teachers here in Quail Creek and the surrounding area.

On behalf of all the artists in Quail Creek, Green Valley, Sahuarita, Tubac, Rio Rico, and Amado, we look forward to seeing you in our studios.
