The Quail Creek Fights Back Relay For Life team is inviting all cancer survivors and caregivers to be honored at the American Cancer Society Relay For Life walk at Rancho Resort Park, 15900 S. Rancho Resort Boulevard (Esperanza and Sahuarita Road). Opening ceremonies are at 10 a.m. on March 28. The celebratory Survivor/Caregiver laps take place at 10:15 a.m., followed by a free Survivor/Caregiver social at noon. Family and friends are invited to join the walk at any time from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for our Celebrate activities (games, prizes, food, and music), Remember activities (memory tent and In Honor wall of names and Garden of Hope list of names), and Fight Back activities (raising funds for cancer research).
Survivors should register (free) online now as a member of the Quail Creek Fights Back team and get a free “Cancer Survivor” T-shirt delivered to their home. They are honored with the first lap on the track, followed by the Caregiver lap. Survivors and caregivers get a free meal, donated by the local restaurant owners of the Longhorn Grill, in appreciation of cancer survivors and their caregivers.
Go to www.relayforlife.org/gvsahuaritaaz to sign up for the Quail Creek team and participate in the event. The Quail Creek team is working to raise over $15,000 for the American Cancer Society to use for patient programs, advocacy, education, and cancer research.
Those who raise at least $100 and register for our Quail Creek team will get a “Hope” T-shirt mailed to them. To have someone’s name In Honor or In Memory on a sign posted around the track for a $100 donation, contact Team Captain Ginny Hutcheson at vhutcheson@msn.com.
