Because the putting green was closed for overseeding, the Lady Putters had a three-week break from putting. When the green reopened for putting on Oct. 15 and 22, they returned energized, with a high degree of accuracy.
There were seven money hole winners, the hole the Set-Up Committee members believed was the most challenging. Earning $5 for this achievement were Alice O’Connor, Cindy Kromer, Jeanine Cavagnaro, Karen Murray, Marisa Intinarelli, Sherry Staab, and Yoshie Hennessy.
Scoring six holes-in-one on a single day were Gwen Vaught, Jan Ederle, Barb Eberly, Patti Baker, and Sylvia Butler. Cathy Thiele, Cyndi Lorenzen, Donna Dabeck, Gloria Staudinger, Joan Gunnerson, Linda Kelly, and Yoshie Hennessy each scored five.
The Putters are now on their winter schedule, so putting begins promptly at 10 a.m., with check-in starting at 9:30 a.m. Weather-wise, this is a perfect season for newcomers and those who have been traveling to rejoin the Putters for some fresh air and camaraderie. All one needs to do is show up at the back patio of the clubhouse with a putter, one golf ball, and a $1 bill, ready for some fun.
