It was a popcorn and movie night wrapped around a book review, and Janine Baxter was the hostess with the mostest. The book was The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. The novel transferred well into a lovely historical fiction movie. The characters came to life in many ways through hardships, oppressive conditions, and the loss of loved ones. After the movie, everyone joined in with a lively book discussion.
