On Nov. 20 the Green Valley Chapter, Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) will be hosting an early Thanksgiving dinner in the El Dorado Room in the La Perla building on the La Posada campus. The social period begins at 5 p.m., with dinner being served at 5:45 p.m. The cost of the dinner is $45. There will be two menu options: the traditional Thanksgiving dinner of roast turkey or roast pork with the time-honored accompaniments. The deadline to sign up is Nov. 18. This will be a good time for those not familiar with MOAA to learn about the many activities in which the chapter is involved that help those in the local community. At the dinner, they will be collecting gifts for underprivileged teens in the greater Green Valley area to support the efforts of the Santa Rita Fire Department to make the holidays a little brighter for low-income families.
All military commissioned and warrant officers, active duty, former, retired, National Guard, and Reserve are eligible to join MOAA.
